Welcome to my blog. Everything Randy, everything Rush!
It's been a long time since I have posted on my blog and well there was some pretty irrelevant stuff here. I have deleted most of it and starting fresh.
A little about me. I'm 34, I reside in Albertville, AL, I'm married to a wonderful woman, and have a wonderful 5 year old daughter!
I have many interests including; College football (Roll Tide!), reading, gaming, brewing beer, history, playing cards, and spending time with my wonderful family and friends.
So I love to read. The mind is a beautiful thing to waste. I love all kinds of books, and have hundreds scattered through out my home. I enjoy all genres, Fiction, Non-Fiction, History, Cereal Boxes, you name it. Here are a few books I am reading or have read recently.
1. The Godfather Returns - Mark Winegardner
Mr. Winegardner takes Mario Puzo's classic characters and fills in the gaps. He gives more teeth tot he story by adding more info into the time line between the first and second movie.
2. The Godfather's Revenge - Mark Winegardner
the second book by Winegardner continuing the stories of the Corleone family as Micheal Corleone deals with his own inner demons.
3. Just One Look - Harlan Coben
Harlan Coben is an author who's works I have just stumbled upon recently. I have read 3 of his novels, and so far i am impressed. A woman picks up her photos at the drugstore only to find a mysterious 20 year old picture of her husband and 5 other people. Soon her husband ends up missing and investigating it, the other 4 people are all either dead or missing. Nice twist at the end.
4. Everything's Eventual - Stephen King
Another collection of short stories from the horror master. As with most of his collections some are good, some are bad, and some are just plain ugly. the movie 1408 is based on a short story from this book. Decent read none the less.
5. It Never Snows In September - Robert Kershaw
A historical look at Operation - Market Garden from the German perspective. If you ever saw the movie "A Bridge Too Far" you know what operation I am talking about. The largest ever Airborne drop. this books tells the little knowledge we have of the German point of view.
